ROSE
Rosa damascena
In nature, the genus ‘Rosa’ has around 150 species spread throughout the Northern Hemisphere – from Holland to Mexico to North Africa.
This beautiful English flower is used either as an extract (macerated in jojoba oil over a period of 4 weeks) or as a pure essential oil, it’s distinctive floral aroma is one of both luxury and quality.
Roses were very significant to Romans and they were used as room decorations or even worn around a string on their neck – everything said ‘under the rose’ was deemed to be secret!
