Pogostemon cablin
Patchouli is a species of plants from the genus Pogostemon, it has long been used in traditional Asian medicine, especially in Malaysia, China and Japan.
It is a bushy herb from the mint family, with erect stems, reaching around 75 centimetres in height and bearing small, pale pink-white flowers.
Essential oil of patchouli is extracted by steam distillation of the leaves of the patchouli plant
