Many of us are guilty of neglecting our hands. We take care to cleanse and moisturise our face, neckline, legs and tummy, but all too often our hands, which often get more exposure to the elements, drying detergents and general wear and tear often get forgotten.

Add in the fact that many of us carry lots of tension in our hands and a gentle hand massage every so often can be blissfully relaxing and what more reason do you need to pamper your paws?

Here is our quick guide to skincare for your hands, including the natural botanicals which are good for them and a little step by step guide to a wonderfully relaxing hand massage ritual…

Extra Rich Hand Balm

Extra Virgin Oil: contains useful levels of essential fatty acids which enriches dehydrated, sore or inflamed skin. This oil is a natural sun filter, screening out some of the sun’s rays.

Sesame Oil: is rich in vitamins and minerals and is a natural sunscreen, filtering out some of the sun’s rays.

Beeswax: a marvellous skin softener and does not clog the pores.

Comfrey: fantastically soothing and healing, with elements that bind tissues and stimulate new cell growth.

Marigold: rich in beta-carotene and antioxidants is one of nature’s most healing, skin-soothing elements.

Wheatgerm Oil: extremely rich in Vitamin E which is a free radical scavenger, mopping up destructive particles and neutralising their effect.  Wheat germ Oil is believed to penetrate deep into the skin where it acts to repair some of the damage caused by excessive exposure.

St John’s Wort: aids in healing nerve tissue of the skin, helping to ease pain and is anti-rheumatic.
